Coaching

Would you value space for reflection, to find answers to difficult questions, to build your self-esteem or to reach seemingly unattainable goals? Then coaching might be for you.

Offering a reflective, empowering space, coaching allows individuals to engage in personal development and make positive change. Sessions are confidential, safe, and action-oriented, focusing on specific challenges or goals brought by the coachee. Meetings might be in person in a quiet space, online or coaching while walking (my favourite).

Since October 2021, alongside my work as a practicing artist, I have supported almost one hundred individual artists and organisations’ team members through creative coaching sessions. I have regular supervision to oversee my practice and have my own coach as well as regular peer coaching.

Kamina is a great listener and she was able to gently guide me through what felt like a period of confusion, to find my own new pathways and ways of working. I’m sincerely grateful to her for this process. My confidence and ability to move ideas forwards has become much stronger as a result.

Kathy Hinde, audio-visual artist

I trained as a Relational Dynamic coach in 2021 with the brilliant RD1st with a focus on the art of interaction with self and others. I see a growing connection between my arts practice and my work as a coach.

My experience of working with Kamina as a coach has been really holistic. I feel that the skill set she possesses, in terms of her empathy and understanding as a practising artist, is really important for me. She can read between the lines of what I am saying and articulate my ideas back to me in a very succinct way. I feel listened to but also very empowered.

Eleanor Duffin, visual artist

With nearly forty years of experience in the creative sector as leader, facilitator, provocateur and artist, I bring both a wealth of expertise and a fresh, innovative approach to coaching. I am particularly interested in somatic coaching, which links the mind-body connection to emotional awareness and also specialise in supporting individuals with ADHD.

Having coaching sessions with Kamina has been incredibly helpful to my practice. As a creative freelancer I have found the coaching really helped me identify my short and long term priorities, as well as help me feel less alone with my job frustrations. As a fellow artist, Kamina just gets it. She is both practical and compassionate, and I'm very grateful to have taken the plunge into coaching!

As artists it is sometimes difficult to look at the bigger picture and consider our work in a holistic way. Being coached by Kamina meant that in just a few sessions, I was able to confidently make key decisions that brought my practice to the next step. By focusing on the things that I enjoy and cherish the most in my work, Kamina supported the sustainability and longevity of my creative career.

We worked with Kamina to develop a coaching offer which is available to all managers and any staff who identify as being from a minoritised background in an ongoing basis. It has been transformational around how we develop, retain and support our teams. The feedback we get from those who have received coaching is hugely brilliant and we have seen positive results at a time in the culture sector that is challenging for morale, opportunity and wellbeing.
